Day 10: Fri 27 Feb - Canberra

15-22 deg C, mostly overcast, with brief patches of sunshine

G Walk: 4km; total: 49km
W Walk: 7km; total: 39km

Wendy went for her morning walk, had breakfast, then tried again to get Dad's MyGov sorted. She gave up for a while to gather her willpower and determination before trying again in the afternoon. She had one win and one loss; Medicare was a winner while Centrelink is causing angst. She eventually got someone on the phone who said the account was 'locked' and we needed to take Dad into the Services Australia Centre to prove his identity in order to link his Centrelink to his MyGov account. Why they couldn't have told us that two days ago beggars belief! Anyway, Mum raced down to Services Australia at Belconnen and managed to get a face-to face appointment on Monday. If the process is this hard, we fully understand why so many elderly Australians have difficulty, or just don't bother and go without!

Greg caught the bus into the city and visited the Canberra Museum. He arrived home just on lunch time, had lunch, then got stuck into erecting some lattice work on the LHS of the carport for a privacy screen. However there was a fair amount of work to do before that to make the supporting structure look neat.  Photos to follow when job is complete.

Curried chicken mince with peas and corn, brown rice and quinoa with raisins, desiccated coconut, and sliced banana was had for dinner, cooked by Wendy. The cooking duties are being shared by Wendy and Mum.
