After breakfast we hit the shops for supplies for Mum's 80th Birthday Celebrations. Although we had a little family gathering on the actual day, this one is the official celebration day, tomorrow on Sun 8 Mar. Suzanne's parents, Paddy and Sarah are visiting from NZ, so will join us in celebrating. Shop done, we deposited the food at the 'restaurant' - Dale and Suzanne's place and went home.
Wendy had a rough night last night with her left knee pain like she's never experienced before. Between the hours of 1-4am, she got vey little sleep as the knee was screaming out no matter what position she had it in. She even tried the sofa in the lounge which helped for a while, but got worse when she went back to bed. Anyway, after shopping, she was a tad piqued so went back to bed for a while.
Greg decided to go for a ride on his own. He returned for lunch then went for a ride to see Bob for a cuppa and chat. Wendy and Mum went to watch one of Carla's basketball games. Carla has certainly come along in the four years since Wendy last watched her play. For a start, Carla has grown like the Bean Stalk and has the correct amount of aggression especially in defence. Her confidence will improve with experience then there'll be no stopping her. We look forward to seeing a lot more of her on the National, and perhaps even the International basketball scene.
Back home, we ordered Chinese takeaways from a shop about 10 min drive away. All meals were large and delicious. No sooner had we finished our dinner then the rain came down, and in very large buckets!! A lovely refreshing storm.
As Flynn lost power, we were asked to collect James and Jemmy as they were not that fond of the dark. Shame, Jemmy was quite distraught as it was probably the first time she had been caught out without either Mum or Dad home. Got them back to Beebee and Pops, and they were OK in no time.

The rain, it was like a downpour in the tropics
