Day 24: Fri 13 Mar - Canberra

9-23 deg C, a very cool start to the day
Ride G: 15km; total: 553km
Walk G: 3km; total: 100km
Walk W: 5km; total: 100km

It was very fresh this morning, so Wendy went for a walk instead of a ride. Greg got stuck into gardening duties and pruned all the plants in the two atriums. He also removed all the leaves and dead matter that had accumulated over a fair while. Once everything was cleaned and pruned he fertilized all the plants and topped their pots up with new potting mix and mulch. Anyway, job is done. Greg also cleaned the gutters and cut some branches from the neighbour's tree that were hanging over our roof and gutters. That done he went for a shorter than normal ride because the breeze was quite chilly. He's been attempting to ride all the cycle paths in Canberra, but as there is about 1,000km of shared paths and another 2,500km of footpaths, that are also rideable, he's got his work cut out.

Just after lunch we received a call from Al Squires, a cousin-in-law. He was in Goulburn on his motorbike and wanted to come and visit Auntie Tinkie and Uncle Rob. Al arrived just after 5pm, and after a chat and a quick catch-up, we had dinner and a good chat. He ended up "camping" in the loungeroom as all the bedrooms were full. Thanks for visiting Al.

The new-look, very tidy plants in each atrium - ready for the spring flush later in the year

Beautiful 'graffiti' on the walls of a utilities building on Greg's ride today
